Search Engine Optimization (SEO)
The customer comes first but through Google!
Google as a critical customer
Writing web text without considering search engines is unthinkable nowadays. Or at least not very wise. Google processes 3.5 billion search requests every day. If customers don’t know you by word of mouth they will start looking for you by means of a search engine. Of course your text should be written with customers in mind and not for a search engine. However make sure the customer can find you: he comes first but through Google!
The right keywords
Luckily Google wants the same as your customer: a well-structured webpage with clear and relevant content. By putting yourself in the shoes of your potential client you can already imagine which keywords your text should contain. With these words you can check in Google which synonyms and combinations of keywords people use. You can vary these with yours. This helps to write a diverse and interesting text.
Clear structure
Also the structure of your website can support SEO. By setting up the website and text you can guide visitors and search engines to important information.
Content Management Systems
Modern content management systems support search engine optimization. Therefore you regularly need to update your website and content management system. Google will index well-maintained websites better than outdated ones. Plugins will allow you to follow how people found you. If needed, you can adjust keywords.
Intake and follow-up
While I am writing text for websites, I optimize for search engines. To do so I need your input. What is your perspective on your company? How do you want the people to find you? If you want, I can investigate the best possible chances in Google. Maybe there are other keywords or combinations you didn’t think of? Together we can discuss these before I include them in the text.
In the future I can help you analysing tracking statistics of your website. If needed, we can adjust the content so customers will be able to find you sooner.
